As for making it grow faster, I think the more you shave the quicker it grows back and the thicker it grows back. So all you have to do is shave every day in the morning, whether you need to or not.
Also, genetics plays a part in this as well.
There isn't anything you can do, it's all genetic.

Shaving it does NOT make it grow faster (urban myth). Just be patient. Many 18 year olds still have sparse or slow growing facial hair. In a few years it should speed up! In the meantime, maybe you could grow something like a goatee?
It may take 2-3 months, but once it is grown in, then you'll look like a man!
Take you time and enjoy not having to shave everyday while you can.
