well I'd suggest something such as Aloe Vera...the aloe vera gel
there are plenty of long term treatments....but Aloe WILL sooth it....and it will take away some redness...not as good as some other things....but the good thing about Aloe is that you cant go wrong with it....its mild yet affective...try it..you'll like it!
dont get the aloe vera gel with lidocaine....lidocaine is almost like the ingredient in Vix....menthol...it feels good on skin but it MIGHT cause your skin to temporarily redden even more

put some aloe lotion on it that will cool it off and relieve some redness and if that doesnt work apply some foundation really lightly over it since your a guy you definately dont want it to look like your wearing make up
Take an aspirin and/or chamomile tea. They won't work super fast, but they calm down irritaiton.
